Duties & Responsibilities
The Public Works Department is charged with operating, maintaining, and improving all town infrastructure such as streets, buildings, water sewer and drainage facilities. The Public Works Department manages capital improvement projects in coordination with other town departments, stakeholder entities and partnering agencies. The Public Works Department also provides general engineering services to support various town goals.
Old Town Streets Project
The Town began construction on the Old Town Street Repair Project on Aug. 30, 2021. For a map of the project locations with frequently updated timelines, click here.
The project consists of pavement repair, including asphalt mill and overlay. A limited amount of curb, gutter, and sidewalks throughout the project areas will be replaced. Additionally, ADA compliant ramps will be installed throughout each project area. Concrete work is scheduled to be completed by Sep. 24 followed by the asphalt mill and overlay work. Project timelines are subject to change as they may be impacted by weather.

3rd Street (Wilson Ave to Franklin Ave)
5th Street (Cleveland Ave to Roosevelt Ave)
1st Street (Kennedy Ave to Tyler Ave)
Harrison Avenue (4th Street to 5th Street)
Adams Drive and Kit Fox
Wellington Blvd (Cross Pan at both entrances to the Commercial buildings)
