Even out the highs and lows of your monthly water volume usage charge and pay the same amount every month for easier budgeting.

Town of Wellington Municipal Utilities is pleased to offer an option to assist residents with managing monthly budgets.  The Equal Payment Program for Water Volume Usage Charges (EPP) helps reduce the burden of high seasonal water charges by spreading the costs over 12 equal billing periods while still accurately accounting for the actual volume of water used.  The program makes monthly utility bills more predictable for residents to manage their monthly budgets.

Terms and Disclaimers

Applications for participation in the Town of Wellington Municipal Utilities – Equal Payment Program for Water Volume Usage Charges will be reviewed by the Town’s Finance Department (Utility Billing Coordinator or alternative staff) for acceptance in alignment with eligibility requirements. A determination of ineligibility by the Town is final. Calculation of installment payment amounts will be completed within Town systems and is not subject to appeal or change.

To remain in good standing with the Town of Wellington Municipal Utilities – Equal Payment Program for Water Volume Usage Charges, municipal utility bills must be paid monthly by the "due by" date. Accounts that fail to do so may be subject to removal from the program, additional fees, or have water service disconnected, at which time, all unpaid usage becomes due and payable.

“True-up” – Every April, we compare your actual water volume usage charges against the installment payments you made over the previous 12 billing periods. If you paid more or less than your actual water volume usage charges, the difference will be divided over the next 12 billing periods in addition to your new calculated amount.  If you paid more than your actual charges, it would reduce your next 12-month installment payment amount.  If you paid less than your actual charges, it will be added to your next 12-month installment payment amount. You agree to pay the new installment payment or to cancel your participation in the Equal Payment Program, at which time, all unpaid usage becomes due and payable.

See the Municipal Utilities Fee Schedule for all rates and fees.
